2016 Spring Season Playoff Breakdown

Overtime Protocol

  • One 5min Run-Time 5 on 5 Sudden Death OT Period
  • 5 Player Shootout (Home team chooses who goes first)
  • Sudden Death Shootout (Must go through entire roster before repeat players can shoot)

U10 North Playoff Breakdown

The playoffs will be a single elimination format. The winners will advance to the Championship game. There will be no consolation games. See below for schedule.

Saturday, June 4th @ 12:45pm in Wake Forest – 1st Place Team vs 4th Place Team

Saturday, June 4th @ 2:00pm in Wake Forest – 2nd Place Team vs 3rd Place Team

Championship Game

Sunday, June 5th @ 10:00am in Wake Forest – Championship Game b/w Semi-Final Winners

U10 South Playoff Breakdown

The playoffs will be a single elimination format. With five teams in the U10 South Division there will be a “Wild Card” Game to see who will be the fourth team in the Semi-Finals. The Semi-Final winners will advance to the Championship game. There will be no consolation games. See below for schedule.

U12 Playoff Breakdown

The playoffs will be a single elimination format. With seven teams in the U12 South Division there will be a “Wild Card” Game to see who will be the sixth team in the First Round. All three winners from the First Round will advance to the Semi-Finals. The highest seeded First Round loser will also advance, but will become the lowest seed of the four teams to advance. The Semi-Final winners will advance to the Championship game. There will be no consolation games. See below for schedule.

U18 Playoff Breakdown

The playoffs will be run as a Round Robin series format. Since there are only three teams in the U18 division each team will play everyone in the division and the two teams with the best record will advance to the championship. There will be no ties in the Round Robin. Two points will be awarded for a win and no points will be awarded for a loss. In the event of a tie at the end of the Round Robin series, the tie breaker will go to the team with the highest goal differential throughout the Round Robin series. See schedule below.

RALEIGH, NC, July 24 Polar Ice House, the Triangle’s premier ice-skating facilities, announced today a youth hockey programming sponsorship with the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes.
